Dr. Linda Larson

Ph.D., LMFT, BCN

Dr. Linda Larson is the founder of North Idaho Neurotherapy, where she combines her deep expertise in psychological health, wellness, and mind-body physiology to offer cutting-edge neurotherapeutic treatments. A licensed marriage and family therapist, Dr. Larson is also board-certified in neurofeedback through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). She earned her Ph.D. from Idaho State University, focusing on Neurotherapy for her groundbreaking dissertation, and holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University.

With over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, including those referred by courts, Dr. Larson brings a rich background to her practice. Her certifications include Critical Incident Stress Management, which she utilizes to support first responders dealing with trauma, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and the Gottman Method for couples therapy, enhancing her ability to address a wide range of psychological issues.

Dr. Larson’s passion for Neurotherapy was ignited when her daughter suffered a traumatic brain injury during an equestrian event. This personal experience has deeply influenced her approach, blending empathy with scientific rigor to support healing and recovery.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Larson is an avid adventurer and fitness enthusiast, enjoying hiking, biking, kayaking, and swimming. She also cherishes her time as a private pilot, finding joy and freedom in the skies. These pursuits reflect her belief in living life to the fullest, a philosophy that infuses her therapeutic approach with vibrancy and hope.

John DeWig

Director of Neurophysiology

John DeWig, MS, a dedicated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist on the path to licensure in Idaho. With a deep-seated commitment to fostering hope and resilience in his clients, John brings over 15 years of diverse experience to his practice.

John skillfully integrates talk therapy with advanced neurotherapy techniques, employing a holistic approach that caters to individuals, couples, and families. His unique background in computer science has been pivotal in his development as a neurofeedback and biofeedback technician, enhancing his ability to apply these technologies effectively in therapeutic settings.

John’s academic journey includes a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, which initially steered him towards technology and analytical thinking. This technical expertise beautifully complements his subsequent training in Marriage and Family Therapy, providing a robust foundation for his innovative therapeutic strategies.

Outside the therapy room, John is an ardent practitioner of mindfulness and physical well-being. He finds solace and balance in meditation, disc golf, tai chi, and cycling—activities that not only keep him grounded but also enrich his therapeutic approach. John is excited to explore and contribute to the vibrant community around him, eager to learn from its beauty and diversity.

Charis Uzabel

Administrative Assistant

Charis Uzabel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University.

After several years of teaching second and third grade, Charis transitioned to becoming a stay-at-home mom while remaining actively engaged in the school system as a volunteer. She worked with the Pend Oreille Arts Council in the Kaleidoscope Art in-class instruction program as well as the Washington Elementary PTA. Charis also contributed to her community through various

organizations. She joined the production crews of Sandpoint Onstage and Growing Dream Productions children’s theater companies and worked with her local church and food bank. Charis

was employed part-time at Nieman’s Floral and Northwest Handmade Art and Furniture Gallery.

Recently, Charis re-entered the full-time workforce in Sandpoint, where she discovered North Idaho Neurotherapy (NIN). Intrigued by the hope and possibilities that Neurotherapy offers, she joined

NIN and has since witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of healing on clients’ minds and spirits. Her administrative and client support work at the clinic has given her the privilege of being part of these remarkable journeys.

In addition to her role at NIN, Charis serves as the Events Coordinator at the Music Conservatory of Sandpoint, where she has also been Board Secretary for several years. She independently contracts for the coordination of private and community events.

Outside of her professional life, Charis enjoys reading, creative writing, attending theatrical performances with friends, and indulging in serious evaluations of chocolate varieties.
